Company history

Property & Advisory is an independent company which began trading in 2004 as Colliers International Consulting Services, building on Geoff Hayter’s 20-year career with Colliers. When Geoff decided to strike out on his own he was invited to stay and to trade in his own right under Colliers’ banner, thus continuing a long and fruitful relationship.

Property consulting was a cornerstone of the original Colliers business in Adelaide, which stretched back to the 1970s. It was led by the likes of George Duncan, who was involved in the founding of Rider Levett Bucknall, Jones Lang LaSalle and Colliers International in Australia and Graeme Martin, who was a national leader in property education & valuation for a generation – and with both of whom Geoff worked closely.

As part of its natural evolution, Property & Advisory has traded under its own name since 2011. Its cumulative history points to almost 2,000 files worth of accrued experience over several decades.

Highlights of its work over this time have included:

  • managing all of the property work arising from the sale of SA Ports Corp, prior to the entry of Flinders Ports - a task which took 10 years
  • work on the reconfiguration of the eastern side of Elizabeth Regional Centre, including demolition of the Octagon
  • preparing an Outline Business Case for the renewal of SA's Supreme Court
  • acting for Ridley in the sale of the Dry Creek Salt Field.

Property & Advisory furnishes clients with specialist strategic property planning and commercial analysis services, providing peace of mind and delivering quality outcomes in even the most difficult transactions.
